Our Classes

At The Gym Pequot Lakes, we have a wide variety of classes suited for all ages, fitness levels, times of day. From high-energy cycling to calm, stress-reducing yoga, our classes are structured to promote healthy lives in and out of the gym.

PLATES & POWER

Step into a high-energy, plate-loaded workout that awakens full-body power through strength and precise muscle sculpting. With just one weighted plate in hand, small or large, you’ll glide through dynamic circuits of thrusters, slams, snatches, and twists—building lean muscle, igniting calorie burn, and elevating athletic performance in a focused 60-minute flow. No machines, no distractions—just you, the plate, and pure, purposeful movement. Welcoming all levels with scalable weights and gentle modifications. Walk away feeling stronger, lighter, and empowered to embrace the day.

Step & Sculpt

Get ready to move on and off the platform, with or without risers, as we dive into choreography patterns that challenge your rhythm and coordination. This high-energy session will have you sweating while we focus on balance and, adjusting speed and travel to suit your level. Plus, we'll incorporate some toning with light weights to enhance your workout. All levels are welcome. Let's get moving!

Spin Bootcamp

 Intense workout utilizing spin bikes along with free weights, Kettle Bells, TRX straps, and body weight exercises in a circuit format for overall body conditioning.

Spin Class

This spin class will be a 45 minute ride in a warm environment.  Class will often be an endurance ride mixed in with sprints, focusing on form and set to the beat of the music.

Total Tone

Craving Variety? This class reinvents itself every week, delivering fresh, exciting workouts that keep boredom at bay! Perfectly adaptable for all levels—whether you're just beginning your fitness journey or pushing advanced limits—you’ll find the perfect challenge tailored just for you. Fusing heart-pumping cardio with targeted strength movements, this dynamic session is crafted to tone, sculpt, and strengthen every inch of your body. Leave energized, empowered, and eager for the next surprise! Duration: 50-60 minutes
Equipment: Bodyweight + optional light weights
Intensity: Adaptable to your level. 
Focus: Full-body toning, cardio endurance, strength

Pilates Plus

Elevate your Pilates practice with this dynamic, music-driven class that blends classic mat Pilates precision with fluid strength and mobility sequences. Expect controlled hundreds, teasing teasers, and pulsing planks—amplified by light hand weights, resistance loops, and mini balls to ignite deep core activation and long, lean muscle tone.Move seamlessly through flowing transitions that challenge stability, improve posture, and enhance flexibility, all set to an energizing playlist. Scalable for every body, this 60 minute session delivers the burn of reformer-style work without the machine.

Yoga Sculpt

Ignite your practice with this heart-pumping vinyasa flow infused with bodyweight and free-weight strength intervals. Seamlessly transition from sun salutations to squats, lunges, curls, and core blasts—building heat, muscle, and endurance while honoring breath-to-movement connection. Light dumbbells and high-rep sequences sculpt lean lines without sacrificing yoga’s mindful flow.Set to an upbeat playlist, this all-levels class offers modifications and intensifiers so every body leaves balanced, empowered, and glowing.Duration: 60 minutes

FIT MIX

Each week, the format and instructor of this total body workout class will change. The class is designed to provide a diverse range of total body conditioning and sculpting exercises that incorporate both strength and cardio movements, targeting all major muscle groups. Participants will have access to a variety of equipment suitable for both beginners and fitness enthusiasts.

Senior Fit

Seniors will work towards increasing range of motion, improving flexibility, gaining strength and increasing bone density.  All of this will be achieved through range of motion; one’s own body weight and when appropriate adding light weights.

Light cardio with an emphasis on strengthening, flexibility and functional mobility.

Yoga Pose

Yoga

This practice weaves together classic Yoga poses with time-honored breathing techniques, guiding you to cultivate strength, sharpen balance, and unlock greater flexibility. Each sequence is designed to harmonize body, mind, and spirit, inviting you to move with grace and awareness.   By the end, you’ll step out of class feeling profoundly connected, mentally clear, and enveloped in a serene, lasting calm.

Bone Builder Sessions

At The Gym Pequot Lakes, we offer a Bone Builder Class that is designed to help our members build bone, reverse osteoporosis/osteopenia, and improve their overall bone health. Our class is based on research-proven methods and only needs to be attended once a week. Plus, you’ll get to work with a personalized trainer to ensure that you are getting the most out of your sessions. We invite you to join us today and take the first step towards stronger bones and improved health.

Personal Trainer

Escape from a directionless workout. With one of our certified personal trainers you will get a safe and effective program. Our trainers will meet you at your level and personalize a plan for you ensuring you of correct technique and better results. Begin with a Fitness Road Map for only $25.  

Senior Yoga

Welcome to our Senior Chair Yoga class, where we promote safety as we explore both seated and standing poses. Our goal is to increase your range of motion, flexibility, balance, and strength, all while incorporating deep breathing and relaxation techniques. This class is designed to meet a variety of fitness levels, so whether you're just starting out or looking to deepen your practice, you'll find a comfortable pace and level of challenge. By focusing on gentle movements and mindful breathing, you'll notice an improvement in your overall wellbeing, both physically and mentally. You'll leave each class feeling more relaxed, centered, and energized. Join us for an invigorating hour of Senior Chair Yoga.
